Salary Increase History
Graduate Student Instructors

Under the terms of their current contract, GSIs receive a salary increase that is equivalent to the average LSA faculty salary increase or a minimum percentage specified in the contract, whichever is greater.

 

* Amount earned by a .50 GSI over 8 months, effective September 1 of each year.

Notes: (1) The 2008 minimum salary increase includes a competitive adjustment of an additional $480. Both 2009 and 2010 minimum salary increases include a competitive adjustment of an additional $75.

(2) CPI % and Detroit CPI % for fiscal years 1997 to 2010 were updated using fiscal year rates (not seasonally adjusted) from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Fiscal year 2011 is based on only the first half year.
